SchoolMCP ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Adam Argo, an individual based in Seattle, WA. This privacy policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our website and services at schoolmcp.net.
SchoolMCP helps schools make their publicly available information accessible through AI assistants using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). We aggregate publicly available school information — such as events, announcements, and schedules — so families can access it through AI tools they already use.

Families access school information through AI assistants via the MCP protocol. We do not collect any personal information from families. There is no family account, no login, no authentication, and no personal data stored. Families interact with their AI assistant, which connects to SchoolMCP to retrieve public school information — we never see or store who is asking.
We use a single HttpOnly session cookie for the school administrator portal. This cookie is strictly necessary for authentication and does not track you across other websites. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or third-party tracking scripts.

School content ingested into SchoolMCP is made available through the MCP protocol, which is the core purpose of the service. We may share information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
SchoolMCP does not collect personal information from children. Our service is designed for school administrators (adults) and serves publicly available school information to families through their AI assistants. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately at privacy@schoolmcp.net.
SchoolMCP does not access, process, or store student education records as defined by FERPA. We only process publicly available school information and content explicitly provided by school administrators. We are not a "school official" under FERPA and do not receive information from student education records.
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), salted password hashing, and secure session management. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain administrator account information for as long as the account is active. School content is retained as long as the associated data source is active. Administrators can delete their data sources and content at any time through the admin portal. If you wish to delete your account entirely, contact us at privacy@schoolmcp.net.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us. School administrators can manage their school content directly through the admin portal.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered administrators of significant changes via email. The "effective date" at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
